Nervously, I wring my hands, offering an apology, “I’m so sorry, I didn’t know he had a partner. If it helps, we were both pretty drunk last night.” I curse my hookup under my breath for dragging me into his relationship drama. The guy’s smirk disappears, and he just stares at me, mouth agape.
“Staring? Who is staring? I’m not staring,” I mutter
“I just didn’t want that guy to have it or for it to be lost in his damn boat,” I tell her, meaning every word. “I would love for you to have it, though.” You can have all of me.

“Behave, baby,” I tell her, getting her hand out of my hair and back on the glass.
I’m willing to break my rules, myself, for them. And they couldn’t even listen to me.
