He said run… But the demons always catch up.
“Why would I kill you when I’d rather see that spirit he was trying to temper? Why snuff you out when I’d rather watch you burn?”
“Run for me, Violet,” I whisper again.
“Saint,” I moan, no longer able to help myself. “Yes, kitten.” He growls. “I’m your Saint.” He might as well be. My Saint. My devil. My destruction.
“Why me?” He pauses, biting the inside of his cheek and narrowing his eyes as he examines me. “Because you look beautiful when you break.”
“That includes me. I’m yours, kitten. Only yours.”
“You want me to prove my commitment to you, Violet? I will. But rest up. I expect a fight.”
“I don’t know, Violet. What am I other than being yours anymore?” he asks. “You feel better than any kill. Your fear tastes unlike any hunt. There is no gratification without you. And I can’t fucking get enough.”
His fingers wrap around the back of my neck, and he holds me to him. He makes my life his life and my body his home.
She doesn’t know she’s my first kiss as she sinks her teeth into my lower lip. But she makes me wish I could peel off my skin just so she could have been my first everything.
She’s beautiful always—and mine. I need her like I’ve never needed anything. More than air. More than blood. More than myself.
She pulls my body flush with hers, and I release her throat. I need to melt myself into her skin.
Fuck, I need her. I don’t need people, but she sees me for who I really am.
And he’s the chaos I’ve spent my life looking for.
He’s sick. Psychotic. The killer he was bred to become. And I’m falling in love with him.
“I don’t know how to love you right,” Kole says, brushing his fingers along my jawline and tracing it the same way he traced my scars. “But I love you every way I know how. Because you are everything to me. I’d die for you.”
