“You’re the one who has always known she wasn’t the one for this, and now I know why.”
“Either way, there is only one instance that would allow him to put another before his Ward.”
“It is not something to be forced upon the Fae,” Eliza cut in, her tone hardening. “If accepted by both sides, it is something to be revered. A twin flame is the one soul you are destined to be with, have been joined with since the beginning of time. It is believed the souls of twin flames recognize each other, somehow finding each other among the stars, and this godsforsaken realm has used it to force the Fae beneath them.”
“We didn’t know,” Theon said, the words almost a whisper. “Someone knew,” she retorted. “Someone did this.”
“You wouldn’t know what to do with me if I crawled to you, Luka,” she purred, sauntering towards him. “Baby girl, I know exactly what I’d do with you,” he countered, immediately rising to the challenge because there was no way he would let her get the upper hand in this.
Then it was her moaning into his mouth as he gripped her hips and hoisted her up. Her legs immediately wrapped around his waist, and he cupped her ass, never breaking their kiss as he walked her to the bed.
“But wishes and hope are for the innocent and the heroes, not the monsters and the villains, so I no longer bother with either.”
“Fuck off,” Theon snapped. “Everyone keeps berating me for not knowing things when I’ve been taught one thing my entire life.
“I do not wish for a normal love,” she said. “And I choose you too. I choose us, even if our days are spent without light.”
“Tessalyn Ausra, I would sacrifice all the realms and all the stars for you. You are perfectly wild. Perfectly untamed. You were not made to be caged, nor were you made to be a sacrifice for a realm that does not deserve such a gift. You were made to live in the light. Go live, little storm.”
