“I want to start a foundation within Cane Enterprises that focuses on offering affordable housing in our buildings to those who need it. Single parents, low-income families, those struggling to get their feet on the ground. I want to build a community within the housing, offer practical classes like basic DIY home maintenance and managing your finances, have childcare, health management. We’re bringing in so much fucking money every goddamn day that I think it’s time we give back, do more than just writing a check to a foundation.”
Breaker stares blankly at me. “No, man. No, it’s not. It’s fucking creepy. When I found out I had a meeting with her, I rushed out of my office, ran over to Breaker’s, and sank down to the ground, wrapping my hands and arms around his leg, telling him I wasn’t leaving him alone until he agreed to attend the meeting with me.
I glance down at my custom-made pigeon shirt and then back at my girl. “I asked you if I looked nice, and you said yes.” “You do, you look very nice. Stop being nervous and go out there and meet the bird that started it all.”
