This time when I exhale, I send all my expectations out with the air. If you don’t want anything, it can’t be taken away. Without hope, there’s no disappointment.

I know how to do this. To be the responsible one, the voice of reason. The life raft. I can’t drown if I’m focused on saving someone else.
