Be Ready When the Luck Happens

It was the longest road trip I’d ever taken, and no matter how many miles we covered, we always seemed to be in Kansas, surrounded by endless fields.

Sometimes there was a little confusion because they didn’t speak “American English.” I was shocked when the director asked me to put my jugs on the hob. “I’m not doing that,” I said, imagining the worst. What does that even mean? Turns out he wanted me to put my measuring cups on top of the stove.
