For me, sex has never felt like a static entity but rather something that adapts and changes as I grow and change, with every new phase and stage of my life.
I dream of being treated as someone who is completely and utterly desirable, wheelchair or not. I also dream of a world where sex for disabled people isn’t seen as taboo. Where television shows and films show disabled sex more regularly. We need more of that, and we need to see queer characters shown that way. Erotic novels with disabled characters where they aren’t fetishised as well. Far too often, sex is seen as the privilege of the able-bodied. Yet we all go through puberty, and unless we’re asexual, sex is something we all desire.
