“Happiness needs to beam out of your eyeballs,”
The circle of trust was...well, I wasn’t quite sure what it was, yet. It seemed to consist of my teammates Lincoln Daniels, Ari Lancaster, and Walker Davis—all stars on the team and in the League—and it seemed to be some kind of group for men scarily obsessed with their girls.
“Hey, ref, you pregnant? You’ve missed two periods,” I sniped as I skated past.
With each leap and turn, she cast a spell. My life changed. There was only before her, and after her.
My pulse was racing, my heart beating out of my chest. I was afraid to blink because I didn’t want to miss a moment of her.
She was a fucking masterpiece. I’d never seen anything in my life as beautiful...as perfect as… Fuck! I glanced around, a strange heat clawing up my neck. Everyone was seeing her like this. Everyone was seeing what was mine.
Whatever was happening, it was outrageous and terrifying and I was pretty sure... I was in love. Holy shit…I was in love?
“Once you find that spark with someone, you do everything to keep it. Ya got me?”
Unfortunately, the three hundred followers she had were all men. So, I’d spent thirty minutes reporting all of them—and then reporting her account, too, because it was nothing but a thirst trap for horny assholes. We’d be having a discussion about privacy and who to accept as friends at a later date.
I mean, I was so interested in this girl I might as well have a neon sign over my head that said “pick me, choose me, love me,” like I was an intern on Grey’s Anatomy.
I hated bastards who hurt women. I especially hated men who hurt my women.
The way she looked when she fell...that flare of pain in her eyes. Should I go back there and insist I take her to the hospital to get checked out? The fall didn’t look too bad, but maybe it was worse than I thought? No, no. I couldn’t just fucking kidnap her. Yet.
I mean, I was her stalker...but I didn’t want her to know that.
“I’ve never seen something so beautiful in my whole fucking life,”
“I promise you, there’s no joke here. I happened to be passing by tonight and saw you through the window. But I didn’t come here to mess with you, or whatever got you so upset just now. It’s just…I saw a literal angel performing on that stage, and I couldn’t help but want to meet you properly. Since I didn’t do such a good job of that the other day.”
I knew she was worth every bit of effort.
“He’s probably thinking about a grandma he helped cross the road,” Logan commented seriously. “Grandpappy business.”
“Let’s get something crystal clear, right now, baby girl. If I ever hear you talk about yourself like that again, I’m going to put you over my knee.”
But psychopath me was going to make my baby girl’s life so good once I got her to give in.
“You’re mine, Anastasia,” I told her, loving the blush that spread across her cheeks. “Whatever you need, I’m going to make it happen.”
One thing was clear, I needed to up my game and save her from herself. Daddy was going to take care of his baby girl.
“Just so we’re clear...I’m awkward. If you didn’t already know that,” I whispered to him as he led me up some steps and through a door. “You’re perfect,” he corrected me. “They’re going to love you.”
“I’m going to be your first and your last. I’ll be the only thing you crave after I’m done with you. You’re not even going to be able to look at another man because your body is going to know I’m the only one that can give it what it needs."
"You're going to be mine, baby. As soon as you bleed all over my dick, you're done. There's never going to be anyone else."
Own me like I want to own you.
“I’ve never seen something as perfect as you, Anastasia. I’m not convinced any of this is real yet, because perfection like yours doesn’t seem possible.”
“My beautiful girl,”
“You are fucking mine. I own this body. I own this soul. Mine,”
“I’m going to keep you forever,”
I was still hard, even after the two most intense, best fucking orgasms of my life. It felt like my dick was the Energizer Bunny,
“She’s the one,” I said before shrugging. “I just don’t think she knows it yet.” Walker laughed. “I know all about that,” he said. “Spoiler alert, though, we always win.” He flashed me a thumbs up before heading to his truck.
“I love you like nothing I could have ever dreamed. I love your laugh, and your smile, and the way you care. I love how you light up every room you walk into. I’m obsessed with your body and your talent, and even the way you breathe. Everything you are, is everything I want, little dancer. Forever.”
“It would be my privilege to help you, to take care of you, to be there by your side as you work toward your dreams.”
“Of course, I’m furious! I just found out that a disgusting monster has been torturing you for your entire life. He was taking intimate pictures of you. He was violating you! And no one fucking did anything about it! I’m trying not to turn the truck around and kill him.”
“I wish you had trusted me. But I understand. I do. You’re fucking terrified of that motherfucker, that’s obvious. I realized it that day when I saw him standing on the street corner outside of Charlie’s. But you’re not going to have to deal with him anymore. I’m going to take care of him. I told you the other night that I’m going to take care of everything.”
Geraldine glanced disinterestedly at Ari. “Oh, they brought you along again.” Her face dripped with condescension as she looked him up and down. “Still not interested,” she sniffed.
“Arrgh!” We all glanced at Walker and he was rubbing his butt, his eyes wide in horror. “She just pinched my ass,” he hissed. Geraldine winked at Olivia like a Cheshire cat. “Good job,” she mouthed at her.
“I would love you no matter what, baby girl,”
“If I had to give up everything to have one day with you—one minute—I would do it. I worship the ground you walk on, not just for your beauty or your talent, but for you. The way you fixed something inside me the second I saw you. The way you complete me in a way I never could have imagined. I love the way you smile, the way you breathe...fucking everything. You own my soul, Anastasia. And if you decided to never dance again right this fucking second...none of that would change.”
“From the moment I saw you, I knew my life would never be the same. You are the reason I breathe. You’re inside me, I can’t even remember what life was like without you. I can’t live without you.”
“It sounds like you’re telling me to marry you, rather than asking me, Camden James,” I said with a hitched laugh because I was feeling so much.
Daddy, Sir, Love of her fucking life, they all made me feral. Everything about her did.
