“You’ve only seen a fraction of my attitude.” I crossed my arms. “I don’t think it would be as exciting at its full capacity.”

“W-when will I see you again?” I exclaimed. He half turned to me, giving me his signature lazy smile. “Soon, my Flower.” And he strode away.

“I think most of humanity is unhappy in some way. Regardless of what they do or do not have.”

“He’s in love with you, I hope you know,” the Queen said quietly as we descended the stairs. I looked over at her momentarily before staring at my feet. “I’m in love with him, too,” I whispered. “Which is why I can’t see him anymore.”

“Would you prefer it be impaled in me instead?” I snapped as I caught my breath. “I’d prefer to impale you with something else entirely,” he said smoothly.
