“There’s not one moment that I’m looking at you, or touching you, that I don’t want to take you apart.” He gave me a rueful smile, those blue eyes soft and warm. “I’m just usually damn good at controlling myself.”
“Why do I put up with you again?” “Because I’m your fucking soulmate, McKenna.” His lips twitched as he tried not to smile. “That’s as good a reason as any, I suppose.”
“I’m not afraid of anything,” I said automatically. “I mean, other than spiders, bugs, snakes, heights, geese—” “Geese?” “They’re mean, and don’t bother to try and tell me that they aren’t.” I gave him an arch look.
