True success does not come from running yourself into the ground, minimizing your needs, and hiding from your honest feelings. Self-neglect is not sustainable for anyone. Not to mention, a rushed and emotionally numb lifestyle serves as a catalyst and breeding ground for the crippling anxiety so many of us have been experiencing.
Sharing the foundational steps of what I know to be the real glow up will allow you the chance to tap into your full potential and live a life that feels authentic to who you are at your core. Believe it or not, you can achieve your goals from a place of self-love and balance.
I assure you there is purpose and wisdom in this version of discomfort.
In hindsight, you’ll discover that your hardest moments were instrumental in leading you to your hard-earned peace, confidence, and overall fulfillment.
Design a life you are truly proud of and fully enjoy. Note the key word is design, because an intentional life takes thoughtful reflection, dedication, and patience.
At first, your life won’t feel like it is changing substantially. Then one day, you actually find yourself working in a career you love that brings you fulfillment. You realize you are living in a cozy home, decorated just how you like it, surrounded by loving and supportive relationships. You are on a plane, traveling to your dream destination.
The Real Glow Up Is When . . . You Monitor How Full Your Cup Is
if you aren’t properly taking care of yourself and your own needs (mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually), you are actually preventing yourself from the opportunity to better serve others.
And you cannot engage in self-care without proper boundaries in place.
FOMO (fear of missing out). This fear is predicated on the idea that you could always be doing more,
don’t force yourself to attend an event (or several) because you think that’s what you are supposed to do.
