“Will you help me raise the clans? We must cross the Fug and aid the castle.” Boran sat down in his chair, leaned back and shook his head. “That is now no longer my job, Alruna,” he said, eyes falling once again to the mark on her wrist. “You are now clan chief.”
Hemmel shook with a final shuddering breath and went still, head lolling back and eyes staring up into nothing.
