In high school I had low self-esteem and I was very self-deprecating to the point where my friends would say, ‘There you go, cutting yourself down again.’ People don’t say that to me anymore, which means I’m getting better, right? I think once you’re used to putting yourself down, you let others put you down as well. Because you become less sensitive to the putdowns. I had this friend I felt thought very little of me.
