Every part of him was renewed clear down to his soul, and it all belonged to the Savior, and King!
“You are a new creature in Christ, Brandon Cooper. Welcome to God’s Kingdom! You will never be the same.”
What I should have done was emulate Joseph in the Bible, who was never a victim. He always saw his circumstances as ordained by a good God who had a plan and was executing it. He never blamed God; he only accepted what a Creator wanted to do with His own creation and how He wanted to do it.
“Makes you cry?” he said with a lopsided, apologetic smile. “Happy cry.” “Oh, happy cry. So there’s difference.” “Yes. A big difference.”
“Would you, Shelly Taylor, do me the honor of becoming my wife? Love me, keep me in line, and work every day beside me? And one day make beautiful tough little babies with chocolate-colored eyes with me? Marry me?”
Life had begun for him again, clean and sober. Because of an awesome God and a wonderful woman, he was ready to make it a good one.
