I take a step forward, closing the distance between us with sure strides. Her eyes widen as I step into her space, but she doesn’t move. Caught like a rabbit, frozen in place while I stalk toward her until the toes of her shoes meet mine. She has to tip her head all the way back to continue looking at me, and I bend toward her, close enough that our breaths mingle together.
