It was quite mindful and generous of those who framed the California Medical Act to coincide with the Constitution of the United States in not allowing the Medical Act to conflict with the Constitution of the United States nor interfere with the religious duty of chiropractors,

the principles which compose the science and the movements which have to do with the art.

Knowledge is superior to faith and belief.

Chiropractic art consists in the aptitude of adjusting displaced vertebrae, of which art I am the originator.

The practice of chiropractic includes a moral obligation and a religious duty.

They desire to understand the nature of our physical existence and assign natural causes for both normal and abnormal functions.

Is this not a mechanistic approach?

Its possibilities will become unlimited, when His laws and our duties as a segmented, personified, portion thereof, are scientifically understood. It will lessen disease, poverty and crime, empty our jails, penitentiaries and insane asylums and assist us to prepare for the existence beyond the transition called death.

The philosophy of chiropractic, according to D.D. How dogmatic!

When the science of biology is correctly understood the span of life will be more than doubled.

It is an educational, scientific, religious system.

Chiropractic science elucidates the problems of life, gives us the incentive to human endeavor and the agency by which sin, the violation, willfully or accidentally, of moral or natural laws, may be eradicated by appropriate adjustment of the neuroskeleton.

I do not propose to change chiropractic, either in its science, art or philosophy, into a religion.

Chiropractic as a science, as an art and the philosophy thereof, also, the moral and religious duty of chiropractors, are free of superstition, they are based upon the knowledge of principles and facts.

Morally, chiropractors are duty bound to help humanity physically.

Philosophy, special or general, is not the foundation upon which I built the science of chiropractic. Its science is based on tone.

Chiropractic is a science. The art of adjusting is the systematic, skillful application of chiropractic principles. Much study and correct reasoning upon the laws which constitute this science have developed its philosophy. The foundation of chiropractic does not consist of its philosophy, nor of the art of adjusting.

Innate (born with) is a segment of that Intelligence which fills the universe.

Physicians deal with the physical only; chiropractors with both the physical and the spiritual.

Medical men have never been able to harmonize the science of medicine with organic functions in health and disease. Science is the registered mental account of our surroundings;

The principles which compose the science of chiropractic are as old as the vertebrata.

Love, patience, perseverance, truth and equality as principles belong to the Sunday School or the lodge room of some benevolent organization;

Why not learn chiropractic as a science? Why not be specific in adjusting?

Why not become acquainted with physiological and pathological processes in health and disease?

Why remain satisfied with a meager knowledge of the science, art and philosophy of chiropractic?

There is more than chiropractic. it is not the be all end all.

Radiation, however, is not heat, it is the kinetic energy of vibrations of ether.

The heat of the body, whether normal temperature, inflammation or fever is a function of nerves. Nerves heat the body.

The commands, known as impulses, are carried over the nerves by vibration.

Pretty sure the impulse is carried via electrical charge.

Motor and sensory impulses are transmitted over the nervous system by molecular vibration.

Ether will in the near future play an important part in the transmission of thought, not only between individuals of this world, but between astral beings and those of the physical.

Hmmm… so much for that prediction. Although, I suppose radio waves could be considered "ether", and had only recently been discovered.

In telepathy thoughts are transmitted by the vibrations of ether; in spoken language they are transferred by the vibrations of the air.

There are three kinds of pressure, impingement, pinch and stricture;

The contraction and expansion of the nervous system has a normal limit known as tone, the basis upon which I founded the science of chiropractic.

Trauma the cause of disease, increasing or decreasing function, is direct in displacing osseous tissue. Poisons as causes are indirect, they act on nerves, nerves on muscles, their combined action draw vertebrae out of alignment.

Effect of trauma and poison. Vertebral subluxation can be secondary.

Instead of a fearful reverence for irrational superstition, we are learning to reason along biological lines.

Goodness, so many chiropractors would fit this descriptjon though.

“The hair of the dog that bit you will heal the wound.”

According to Sawbones podcast, an early treatment for rabies was to cut off the tail of the dog that bit you, burn it into ashes, then place the ashes in the wound. Hence the phrase, “The hair of the dog that bit you…”

Hundreds of scientists are devoting their lives to the study of bacteriology, germ investigation, a microscopical branch of biology, in order to determine their relation to health and disease, not realizing that life action is due to the combination of intelligence and matter, spirit manifestation through material.

When it becomes generally known that heat is a function of nerves, chiropractic beams of enlightment will revolutionize the practice of medicine and make visible that which is now obscure.

All rachitic conditions are because of displacement of the twelfth dorsal vertebra; this is an established fact:

Rachitis? Meaning Ricket's disease? Later established as a Vit D deficiency.

Life consists of actions guided by intelligence.

The displaced bones of any luxated joint may impinge upon a nerve, or by their displacement cause a nerve to be stretched, thereby creating inflammation.

Atlas luxations are the cause of a large per cent of diseases, which may be relieved by adjusting the displaced atlas. The displacement of other joints than those of the vertebral column cause nerve tension, a stretched condition; disease the result, and yet, no possibility of a nerve being pinched.
