As I wrote my first mending spell, I thought of how sometimes you wanted to make something right for a person without them asking, and what that meant.
To truly explain the spell we cast would be to explain both music and magic, and neither of those things can ever be fully understood.
Oh, how I loved him. So much so that it was like a living thing, growing through every crack in me. Too hardy to kill.

Have you ever had your insides scraped out, mashed with a fork, and then put back in place? That’s certainly what it felt like had happened when I woke up. From my pinkie toes to the hair follicles on my head, everything hurt. “Dear me, no thank you,” I muttered, and forced myself back asleep.
