Infosys, one of India’s IT giants, has set up testing centers where people, including those without much formal qualification, can walk in and take a test that focuses on intelligence and analytical skills rather than textbook learning. Those who do well get to become trainees, and successful trainees get a job. This alternative route is a source of hope for those who fell through the gaping holes in the education system.
