It doesn’t matter how awful, how unfair, how expensive an experience is, I’ve come to understand that I have the greatest job in the world in that I can take what happens to me, even heartbreak, and turn it into material. In this way, nothing is ever truly a waste; nothing is totally, irredeemably bad.
