The mouth-watering aroma of fresh-churned ice cream hits first—vanilla beans and smooth lusciousness. A blend of rich liquor and spice comes next. It’s as mysterious as it is delectable—warm layers of bourbon and ginger that somehow elevate the vanilla cream. Then there’s smoke. The deep, almost-sweet aroma of a bonfire. Earthy woods, crackling flames. It makes the vanilla sweeter and the spice more pungent.
And the next thing I know, I’m running.
My poor sweet little peach.
“I wasn’t going to tackle her,” I lie.
I’m fighting my every instinct when she suddenly skips into a run, launching herself right at me. Oh. My. God. This girl. She is mine.
“I would have found you, precious,” I promise. “You can count on that.”
“You’re a doctor—do we put him in rice like a malfunctioning iPhone or just hit his reset button?”
Theo’s lemongrass and blood orange scent lights up
This little one is going to be mine.
And there will be a day when she knows as surely as I do that I’ll never hurt her, that she’ll never lose me. Until then, I have to be careful.
“She’s exactly what I need.” Archer’s hand grazes mine as he sets it on top of her head. “Me, too, big guy.”
For fuck’s sake, girl, just pick a dresser.
“Touch him,” Meg begs. “Stroke his cock for me.”
“I love it when you look like this.” Her lips curve. “Like what?” I smile, hauling her up into my lap. “Like mine.”
“I want to love you, too,” she murmurs. “I wish you would let me try.”
“Right at the heart of me—where you belong.”
“Daddy is taking us to Disney World?”
