“Batman,” I wheeze. “Wait, shit. Redo. I’m your worst nightmare. Does that sound more threatening?”
“Oh, Cain’s going to have a fit when he sees you.” “Shit.” My face crumples. “I’ll clean everything up. I promise.” “I said when he sees you. Not the kitchen destruction.” I glance down at myself. “Should I change out of his clothes? I didn’t have anything else...” Rev chuckles. “You are too cute, you know that? Completely innocent. When Cain finally accepts that, you’re going to set fire to his world, pretty boy.”
“Cain?” I murmur, pulse quickening. “Yeah, baby?” “You feel like home to me.”
No one is safe from me if I find a single mark on Ezra’s body. Hell, I might burn the entire city down tonight. It’s filled with scum, anyway.
“You’re mine. No one is ever going to fucking touch you again.”
“I know you aren’t mine by blood, but that never did matter to me, you know that?” Jakey says. “My boy went to heaven, and I got to pull you out of hell.”
