I must not let him forget... me.
Until now, Aleron didn’t know it was possible to be both offended and complimented at the same time.
“Pretty,”
“Do not leave without me. Do not fall back asleep. Do not... forget me.”
“My heart is telling me to hold you,” Aleron softly stated in return, nuzzling the jaw of his skull against his temple.
“I do not know where you were before I met you, but I will not let you go,” Aleron stated, his tone holding confidence in his promise. “I will stay by your side, always.”
He wouldn’t just follow him anywhere; he’d happily let Gideon escort him to his own demise.
“I can be your wings, Gideon.”
“You are all squishy and weak. I do not mind this about you, though.”
“I will always choose you,” Aleron said without thinking, only to pause.
“I would like to see you try, little beast.” The mirth in Aleron’s tone nettled him, as well as the tease.
“Yeah, shoo, Mr dusty man! Or I’ll sic my giant feather duster on you,” Gideon chimed in. “We’ve had enough of your interruptions.”
At least his soul wants to be with me.
My little spring... I will thaw you.
“Since the little human is so set on marching through the forest, he has lost his walking privileges.”
“He is all that matters. Well... all four of us. But right now, I’m thinking about him. I know it may not make sense to you, but the moment I put that ring on him, he became my husband in the most unconventional sense. I would fight for him, I’d die for him, and I’d kill for him – just as he would me.”
