Redemption of the mind cannot come from the mind when the mind itself is corrupt. Paul goes on to say that since “the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe” (1 Cor. 1:21). And what was this foolishness, if nothing more than the simple truth that if we are to be saved from the doom of the corruption that extends even to the furthest faculties of our minds, we must look for a source outside ourselves.
