Borglum set the dedication of the Lincoln head for September 17, which was the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution. He planned the ceremony also to be a commemoration of a “roll of honor” of men who had been important to Rushmore and now were dead. In addition to the more familiar names, his list included Dr. C.
