“I’m having homicidal fantasies,” he admitted quietly at her worried glance. Warmth and light flooded through Amelia’s chest, and she couldn’t help the smile that bloomed over her lips. Leo scowled at her mouth, then met her gaze. “It’s not funny.”

“I’m going to kill him, you know.” It was so unexpected that a laugh just fell out of her lips. “What?” “That asshole who actually convinced you that your body was disgusting? I’ll find him and kill him.”

“Oh. So the whole Pestilence thing…?” “Oh, everyone got chlamydia. That’s definitely true.”

“Well, we’ve known each other two weeks. How about you wait two more and ask me then? And if I still say no, you could wait two more. Give us time to think about it. Get to know all my horrible habits.”
