Edwin Moses is a prime example of the growth mind-set. He was a steadfast student of his event throughout his phenomenal track career. Moses won gold medals in the 400-meter hurdles at the 1976 and 1984 Olympics—he was unable to compete in 1980 because of the United States’ boycott of the Moscow Games.
