Down the hall, a door opened. “Would you keep it down out here?” Rupert snapped. “You’re going to wake—” The baby began to cry and Rupert cringed as if he was the one who was going to have to put her back to sleep. “Sorry, Rupert. Good night.” Cece smiled at Ethan and Maggie, then gave a yawn and walked away.
