“You can let me go now.” I turn my head to Zydon. “I am not sure I want to. I enjoy holding my mate close.” He leans down. “I think you enjoy it as well.”
“I would like to try more of this kissing. It is extremely pleasurable.” His gaze drops to my mouth. “But I do not want company for it. I would like to spend time with you. Alone. Kissing. And getting to know my mate.”
“You asked me why I want to earn your affection,” I remind her. “Because you are strong, fierce, and have a gentle heart. You are loyal to those you love. Any warrior would be blessed with you as a mate. And yet, of all the warriors, Deeka chose me as being worthy of belonging to you. You are a blessing and I want to show her, and most especially, you, that I am deserving of being chosen.”
I’ve always been the one trying to prove myself to undeserving people.
“Yes, but it is how you spoke, not just your words. There was compassion that not a lot of people have, especially for those they don’t feel deserving. The universe needs more of that.”
“I’m here because you’re here. And wherever you are is where I’m meant to be.”
When we’re together in our tent, no others are allowed. Not even in our minds.”
“My beautiful keeshla. My blessing.”
