This is it. Your last chance to run. Please tell me you’ve read and considered the triggers. Please know that you are about to enter a story that is dark, twisted and at times completely fucked up. We don’t yuck anyone’s yum, especially when it is this delicious, but there is nothing wrong with this book not being for you!
“Baby, I would never let anything happen to you. If you didn’t want to be with me anymore, we would figure it out together. You’ll never be without a home again, I promise. Even more so, there is no possibility in this fathomable universe where you and I aren’t together until the end of time. You’re mine, Blake, and I’ll never let you go.”
Yes, he saw her first, but he doesn’t know her, and she doesn’t know him. He doesn’t have an unbreakable bond that sets his soul on fire with a single look from her. I do, me and her. She’s mine, and I’ll do whatever it takes to protect her from everything, most of all him. And if it comes down to it, I’ll choose her every fucking time.
he can be the one to leave. In a body bag or a car, it makes no difference to me.
“Pleasure and pain are a fine line, and if you do it right, they blend together beautifully.”
He looks over his shoulder and smiles at me, that smile that practically turns me gooey on the inside, like I’m sunlight, and he’s lived in nothing but darkness his whole life.
“I don’t fail, ever, and the most important thing that I’ve ever held, I failed. I won’t ask for your forgiveness because I don’t deserve it.”
Really, Blake? It’s been two days and already you’re feeling sympathy for your captors? Stockholm syndrome is setting in, apparently.
“I love it when you say my name, angel.” “Stop calling me that,” I grit out, doing my best to keep my head through his fucked-up mind games. “I can’t. That’s what you are. You’re my angel, and I’ll be your devil. Bound for all eternity. I’ll do anything to protect you, always know that.”
all I know is that right now, in this moment, I want him to kiss me more than I want my next breath.
I’d burn heaven itself to the ground to keep you as mine.
“What do you need?” I furrow my brows at that. “What do you mean?” “What do you need, angel? What can I do?”
“The question is, what are you going to do to him, angel? He’s your present, to do with what you will. I hand-selected some of my favorite toys over here,”
“Can I help you, angel?” “That would be great, why did you raise your hand, though?” I ask as he walks around Jim. “I didn’t want to interrupt your fun.”
“You stole my voice before I even knew what it meant to have one, so why should you deserve to speak?”
“Ride me, angel. Take what you want. I’m all yours to do with as you please.”
“Please?” she asks softly, forcing my eyebrows to dip. Please what? I’ll do anything she wants, even if it means tearing my own heart out.
Zayden and I share a heavy look, a million things being spoken silently between us. She’s not choosing him. She’s not choosing me. She’s choosing us. We could both fight it, tear each other apart in the process, but in the end, it will only hurt her. She wants us, and whatever she wants, she gets.
“That’s my nickname? I get one?”
He loves her more than he loves his next breath, and honestly, if it means keeping her happy forever, I don’t give a shit.
Is it actually funny, or are we just disassociating? Probably both.
Zayden pulls away, looking at me like I didn’t just hang the moon, but I am the moon,
“Listen very carefully, Christian. You will never come here again. If you try to contact Blake, I will break your hands, if you chance a glance at her, I’ll pluck your eyes out, and if you so much as breathe a word in her direction, I will slit you from ear to ear.”
Joy like I’ve never seen on his face before spreads, enveloping all of his features and leaving nothing untouched by it.
I’ll die a hundred deaths before I let anything like this happen to her again.
“Worship me another day. Use me today.”
“Even in death, forever mine,”
“We are going to make it through this together. I promise.”
