He said that I need to talk some sense into him. Obviously, he doesn’t realize my twin doesn’t have the capability for anything of the sort.
“There was an incident at the bar. A guy was harassing her, and then he slapped her ass.”
“And?” he practically growls. “And he was discharged from the ICU two weeks ago with long-lasting neurological deficits.” The fire in his eyes dims a bit, returning to a calm smolder. “Excellent news, brother.”
I look at him but don’t respond as I stare at the judge. Judge Allen Martinez. I’ll come up with his home address later and make sure to check on him. I heard there was going to be a terrible gas leak.
“How did you know it was me without seeing my eyes?” “Because Dom isn’t creepy enough to sit and watch me sleep,”
A sick part of me forces a smile to spread across my face, an actual smile. Is it weird to swoon because a man kidnapped and beat your abuser? I don’t think so.
I huff in frustration before I see Zayden raise his hand like an eager child in class. I furrow my brows at him and nod. “Can I help you, angel?” “That would be great, why did you raise your hand, though?” I ask as he walks around Jim. “I didn’t want to interrupt your fun.”
Fuck, what I wouldn’t give to just keep her wrapped around me forever. We would drive and drive until we ran out of road. Though I think my brother would take some issue with it, he could always track us down and meet up later. See, look at me. I’m sharing.
He shows me how to feel around for the locking mechanism and how to push it back, accidentally unlocking the door himself. Quickly, he pokes his head inside, grabbing the handle. “Zayden, get the fuck out,” Dom growls. “We weren’t ready! It’s my angel’s turn. One second,” he says as he locks the door from the inside and shuts it once more.
