“You better shut your fucking mouth before I shut it for you, Bernie,” Griffin grumbled. He turned his gaze toward me. “As for you, smart ass, I’m pretty sure three days to take down an entire cartel is a new record.”
“No, not at all. It didn’t matter that I cashed in six different favors to change orders and fly from another country in three fucking days to save your ass. All I cared about was the cartel.”
“I should have known. This is why girls always fall for the villains in books, at least those guys are willing to burn down the world for them.”
Griffin shook his head. “I burned down an entire cartel for you, but I guess that shit doesn’t matter...

“Why didn’t you write?”
“Yeah, why didn’t you write?”
“Seriously, though, he would wait every time mail came in just hoping that there was a letter from this one girl.” The guy to the far right spoke, and he pulled down his mask, a...

The last guy pulled his mask down, freckles covering his features. “Will you just kiss her already? We all know you want to.” He grinned as Griffin’s cheeks, what little I could see of them beneath his beard, flushed red.
“Kiss her. Kiss her,” they all chanted, and Griffin closed his eyes, shaking his head. I remained frozen in my seat, facing Griffin’s profile, unsure what to do.
“I missed you,” he whispered. “I missed you too,” I replied.
He shook his head. “What did you want me to say, Jane?” “The truth. I wanted you to tell me the truth!” He snapped his gaze to me, his eyes darkened beneath his brows. “So, me telling you that I was
in love with you that day wouldn’t have freaked you out? Because I’m pretty sure—”
“You ...

“I love you, Jane. I have since you sat on my face,” he bluntly stated.
Noah wiggled his brows and grinned again. Using his fingers, he formed a large circle. “Thick dick. Impressive dick.” Then he slid his hands apart from each other. “Long dick. Enormous dick,” he said just as the waitress walked over and plunked some chips aggressively in the middle of the table.
“You think I’m easier to handle than multiple agents?” Griffin asked, stalking forward so he towered over Sam, who was gasping for air on the ground. “You should’ve taken your chances with the agents, because I’m the fucking devil.”
A wicked welcoming grin slid across Griffin’s face, like he’d just received an invitation to unleash the hounds of hell,
“You should hope the cops get here. They’re the only ones who can save you from me,” Griffin growled between his teeth and plunked him back down on his feet.
Griffin squatted down, placing his elbows against his thighs, and tipped his head, a crazed look on his face.
One that should have filled me with fear for the man that I absolutely owed my life to. “Should have” was the key word during this entire crazy ordeal.
He swallowed stiffly, his Adam’s apple bobbing with the movement, and his breath hitched in his chest. “I fucking love you,” he stated lowly as sirens pierced the air around us. I giggled. “I love you too.”
“You made him look like a complete fool though.”
“I wanted to beat his skull in so his brains were a pile of mush on the pavement.”
“I was wrong,” my mom immediately said, looking directly at Griffin.
“I know I told my daughter that we were staying, that I accept you, but I owe you an apology said directly to you. I was wrong for judging you simply because I was afraid.”
