Careful not to startle my skittish lamb again, I slowly reached out and grasped her face, bringing the eyes in question to look into mine. “Fuck, no. Your eyes are the color of delicious milk chocolate, and I’m a sweets man, baby. You give me one hell of a sweet tooth.” She blushed and pulled away, but I caught her before she retreated back too far. “You’re addictive, Ezello. Your smile. Your laugh. Your taste…”
And then she bit me. My eyes flew open, and when I looked down at her face, she was smiling a devilish grin while licking the blood away. “I told you, Goliath. I bite back.”
His kiss was a complete brand of my body and soul. An all-consuming claim of everything I was. Our tongues were battling, tasting, and exploring. I’d never been kissed like this. Never had a man completely steal my soul with his wicked lips. But here I was, asking the devil to drag me to hell with a smile on my face.
It was quiet for a long while, enough to where I had to check the phone screen to ensure the bastard hadn’t hung up on me. “Or what?” he threatened. “You and your broken Juliet will run off into the sunset?” I ground my teeth together. “Tell me, Roe. Did Ariah put up a fight when you literally stabbed her in the back?”
“It’s time, darlin’. Keep going. Take it back. Make your final descent into Hell.”
Feeling her warmth in my arms again, her battering my body with her little fists. It felt…right.
“She’s a pain in the fucking ass, I swear to god,” I said, shrugging. Micah laughed again. “Yeah, but it looks like she’s your pain in the ass, Goliath.”
