In a world of shouting men, be the one who remains silent, my mother used to say all the time. If they cannot hear you, they won’t see you.

I thrive in the darkness. It’s where all monsters feel most at home.

It might require some chains and ropes, but that’s okay. Every woman deserves some accessories.

It’s a reminder that time never stops. No matter what you can control, time isn’t one of them.

I learned at a young age that you don’t need a steel cage to be a prisoner. Sometimes all you need is to be left alone in a room by yourself with nothing but your own thoughts. You can drive yourself crazy all on your own. Or at least I know I can.

Allowing myself to fall in love with her is madness. No matter how I try to justify it, the ending will be the same. I can only hope I have time to leave her with something that will remind her of me.

I’ve learned that it’s okay to love someone no matter how little time you get with them.

I wish I could stop time like that. Make the world halt while we look for him, but it doesn’t work that way. Instead, the seconds slip through our fingers like sand.
