“Dance with me, Mrs. Reeves?” She looks up at me through her dark lashes as I take the drink from her left hand and set it on the end table next to the couch. Then I grab her right hand and pull her to me.

I’m married! I’m officially Mrs. Reeves.

I’m in love with her. She’s my wife. That’s not supposed to mean something in our world, but it does to me.

Her pretty features soften at my words, and she swallows. “So,” she whispers, “you went to all that trouble to trick me into marrying you to piss my mother off.” “No.” I frown. “I married you because I love you,” I say truthfully.

“You do owe me a honeymoon.” “Yes, I do.” And I add, “Whatever my wife wants.”

That I’m the jealous bitch who gets to call this amazing man my husband. But moving forward, I will kill any bitch who tries to take him from me. I fight for what I want, and he’s it for me.

“I hope your memory is better than your eyesight because that’s the only way you’re going to see my wife.”
