A time comes to weep; a time comes around when we laugh. Our tears of grief, and the occasions of them, are from His hand. So is the laughter (v. 4). “I am the Lord, and there is none else. I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things” (Is. 45:6b–7). When calamity comes, and the tears follow, the Lord was in it.
