Why, God, did You give her such a restless spirit and then put her in a family like ours?

And she hated having to make excuses for them on the occasion when people asked. She hated lying for a man who didn’t deserve it. So she would be silent. Maybe utter a prayer to the God who never heard her. At least it seemed that way.
