Freedom of speech means a right to facts. Defending that right means sharing the facts about which people can speak. Only humans go into the world to discover the new and unpredictable. The mass delivery of plagiarism and fiction can be done by machines. Reporting cannot. Machines have no Leib and no values. Truth and risk mean nothing to them. They are not speakers, and they cannot be free. They cannot do the investigating; we need more human reporters to investigate the machines (and everything else).
