Freedom is the value of values, but it does not stand alone. Nor can a free person. The practical recognition of these philosophical truths is solidarity, the fifth form of freedom. We need the salve of solidarity in the hard logic of life. Young people can become sovereign and unpredictable thanks to the care of others. The time needed to care for them can be organized only by common effort.
