how can a controversial real estate mogul with a colossally flamboyant personality ever become the president of the United States? Trump had zero government experience and no identifiable ideology. Chutzpah and fame put him into the White House. No person had ever done that before.

undisciplined provocateur who seeks constant attention is the public person who has alienated millions.

Historically, the election denial is Trump’s “Lewinsky.”

Except, maybe, that Trump brought much of the hatred on himself. He often traffics in personal invective. Not a “uniting the country” strategy.

resolved, as both sides are emotionally committed. The forty-fifth president is a force of nature, to be sure. And the storms that surround him continue. His true legacy will remain undefined for years to come.

Some cheat. Some drink too much. Had it always existed, cable news would have crushed a lot of them.

This “transition of power” is a bedrock of American democracy. Some presidents don’t miss the Oval Office as much as they long for that big show of power known as Air Force One. However, it would seem that a round-the-clock cadre of armed men watching your every movement, as the Secret Service eyes the president, would get old.

It’s debatable, but that’s what people say when a president goes missing.
