“And will you be beside me up there?” “If I should be so lucky.” “Promise me,” she murmurs sternly. “I don’t want to be alone.” I nod against her hair. “I promise, Dena.”
“You are the sweetest thing I have never tasted.” Another brush of his knuckles. “And I doubt I’ve craved anything more.”
And just like that, I’ve picked which pretty prince to root for. Because it’s Kai who is destined for Paedyn, no matter how tragic their story. No matter the opposite roles they play in
this life. But maybe things will be different in the next.
