Someone is out there waiting to love me. Someone will see all that I am and provide ample space for me to just be. Someone will contribute to the life I’ve created for myself without dimming my light.
“You’re not drooling. If that’s why you keep wiping your mouth.” “I know I’m not,” I say defensively. “Listen, ma’am. I don’t have anywhere to be, but if you’re going to keep eye fucking me…I’d appreciate it if you’d ask me my name.”
“How do you feel now that you got to see me?” He stares adoringly. “Very fucking fortunate.” Well, shit.
Reading romance is amazing, but eventually, you start to wonder if your main character moment will ever come along. I can’t be the only one who feels that way.
Books and IKEA.
His gaze feels like the warm sun on my skin on a spring morning.
“Wait up?” she asks. As if I would do anything other than wait for her.
“You want to buy me smut books?” “Yes.” “Paperback or hardcover?” “Anything you fucking want.”
How will I survive the date if everything he’s doing has me ready to bite a pillow and scream?
I’ve read a few romances she’s recommended, and I think this is what they call a slow burn. I can wait. The fire will be rewarding.
I’ll own it now and throw up later.
Relax. He’s just a man.
“Selah, are you calling me a book boyfriend? That’s a hell of a compliment.”
“Ugh. Communication. You know I’m not much of a talker, Doc.” “I’m aware. That’s why I’m employed,” she chuckles.
“Sure, Daddy,” I joke. He leans in, his tone gravelly. “Call me ‘Daddy’ again and I’ll make sure you scream it all night.”
I choose silence over violence.
What woman wrote Grey? I’d like to thank her for her service.
Note to self: Order silk pillowcases and a bonnet for her to keep here.
“I love it, Grey. Thanks for thinking of me.” “I always think of you,” he assures me. “Why is that?” “Because I love you, silly.”
You are something else, Greyson Park.” “You are everything, Selah Bailey.”
