Over time, I received two very nice responses from the president’s secretary, Mrs. Lincoln, who married a descendent of my second favorite president, and though I lost the first one, the second one read: Dear Griffin, The President wanted you to know that he wishes you all the very best on your upcoming birthday and hopes you have a wonderful party.
