Males. They always had such uncontrollable tempers.
It was easy to forget what my body felt like without the pain
“There are a lot of things I get off on, little fae. I could show you sometime if you’d like to see.”
The angel leaned back and held a finger to his lips, motioning for me to be silent. I wanted to bite his damn finger off. I didn’t need him to save me. Him, or anyone else.
“Gut me?” he repeated with a slight scoff. He crossed his arms over his chest, dropping his chin to look up and down dramatically with those piercing eyes. Again. “Careful, killer. I like my females violent, you know.”
“Wrap your arms around my neck,” Wolf growled into my ear, barely audible over the continued roar of the water.
Hells. Wolf looked good on his knees. Especially when kneeling in front of me.
“I don’t want to watch you get hurt because I don’t like it. Fair enough?”
“Of course I was watching you. I couldn’t look away for a moment, even if I tried.”
“I’m glad my chaos entertains you, but I don’t need an audience.” I
“Blood magic is much more powerful than natural magic. With blood, you’ll be able to fight. You’ll be able to summon the elements with only a thought. You’ll even be able to heal or kill if you’re strong enough, though those gifts are very rare. The limits to what you can do with blood magic are nonexistent, but be wary. With great ambition comes significant risk.”
There was nothing anybody could do as he threw me over his shoulder and marched out of the courtyard.
“I’m talking about the fact that you’re a killer, Huntress. You’re a predator. You carry sharp blades and even sharper teeth.”
But then, in a softness I had never heard him speak in before, he said, “You are making me remember.”
“If you want me on my knees, Huntress, all you have to do is ask.”
“You are a stunning creature, Huntress.”
“You do not know the violence that runs through my veins, begging to obliterate anyone who lays a hand on you.”
“Will you stay with me?” He tensed. My heart stopped. “I’ll always stay with you.”
“I see your scars in your eyes.” The tips of his fingers circled. “I see them in your fight. I see them in your determination. I see them in your anger.” When tears burned my eyes, I let them fall. “Just because your back may hold these physical scars doesn’t mean you can’t rewrite that story, Huntress. You’re a fighter. These explain nothing if not that.”
Wolf held me with a dominating need, one that weakened my knees and made me forget everything I was supposed to despise about him.
He raised his chin, exposing his chest. “If you have to kill me, kill me. I deserve much worse than death at your hands, Huntress.”
“You look into my eyes, and you feel your own heart when I tell you I will die before I let anything happen to you, Huntress. You’re safe with me, and you might not want to believe it, but deep inside of you somewhere I know you can feel that truth.”
“You feel my strength,” I reminded him. “You know I am not weak, Wolf. Pain is no stranger to me. You know I can handle it.”
Pain had made me who I was. Pain had turned me into something violent, something indestructible.
“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”
“Look at me while I devour you,” he muttered as he pulled back. “I want you to remember who gives you this pleasure, Huntress. Me.” He licked me again, slowly and torturously. “Only me.”
A warrior on his knees before me, devoting himself to me, adoring me. Only him. It was always only him.
“Tell me you’re mine, Huntress. Tell me you belong to me, and nobody can change that.” “Fuck, Wolf,” I begged. “I’m yours, so painfully yours.”
“I can feel those pesky emotions of yours, and you’re seconds away from stripping me of all my restraint.” “Who said I wanted you restrained?”
My soul kneels to yours.
