“What violent tendencies you have.” He cocked his head at me, the corner of his mouth tipping up. “You’re a little monster.”
“Better,” Bael said promptly. “I like them crazy.”
If Bael meant to announce his presence, the pageantry was unnecessary. I’d known he was in my tower the moment he crossed the threshold and had merely been waiting for the dramatic fucker to appear.
“Hello, little monster. I’ve been hunting for you.
“No, you infuriating ingrate, because you are mortal and are in fact aging, and at this rate you will be dust on my shoes before your foul stench stops besmirching my nose.”
“Fuck off,” Scion replied, and heavy footsteps followed his statement. “This is my room. What are you doing?”
library is one floor below here. Ignore that, it’s Bael and Scion.” My eyebrows raised so high I was sure they disappeared into my hair. “A bit of light reading, I suppose?”
“I may not be as well read or well educated as you, but at least I use my words effectively.”
“Really? How so?”
“Go fuck yourself.”
“A word of advice.” Teeth grazed the skin of my throat. “Never run from monsters. It only entices us to chase you.”
“Oh? Pray tell, when would you like to bestow that wisdom upon my poor, lowly, human ears?” I laughed. “Good! Now again, with more sincerity.”
“You heard me. Lick.” “You’re going to have to be more specific, rebel, or this will turn into a very different kind of party.”
“Lick my cunt, then. Show me how you pay fealty to your queen.”
“So, why don’t you tell me, mate. What are you lying about?”
