I do not cower from the darkness that hums in my veins.
Not anymore.
“Want to know a secret, Your Grace? Sometimes when I’m all alone and it’s late at night, I touch myself to the thought of bleeding every drop from your body. I’ve found bliss at the thought of you begging me to stop, to grant you mercy when you showed none.”
“Just know, my sweet Blackheart, when I’m done chasing you, I will devour you. Bones and blood and soul.”
The ends of his lips twist up, and his eyes darken as he inclines his head towards me.
“Careful how you speak of them, little witch. I happen to be rather fond of one.”
“Tell me, little witch, how do you expect me not to think of you this way when you’re wearing my shirt and touching yourself in it?”
“Fight me until your dying breath, but I’m never letting you go.”
“I have never stopped thinking about you. Night after night, it was thoughts of you that kept me awake, your voice that chased sleep away. And then you show up, bring me back here, and… and I can’t fucking breathe around you. You didn’t create these problems on your own, but you are the sole cause of my undoing, and for that, I blame you wholeheartedly.”
“You have always been mine, little witch. Even if you don’t know it yet.”
“You had no problem forcing your Mark on her, why don’t you come leave a few on someone your own size?” Sin’s face is the false calm before a tsunami. “Contrary to what you might believe, Red Wolf,” he drags out the nickname, “I would never dishonor the only person I ever wish to Mark by not waiting for their explicit consent, which I assure you, was in no short supply yesterday.”
“I love you, Singard. More than the stars in the sky and the breath in my lungs, I love you. I have for a very long time.”
“Careful, little witch. Unless you want me to carry you into these woods and have everyone hearing how pretty you sing.”
“I know I am not worthy of you, but I will stop at nothing to claim you as my own. My love. My wife. My Mate.”
Power surges through me, my magic like lightning and Sin’s blood the ocean, agitating together in a ravenous storm.
