“I need to…touch you to help. Is that okay?” His nose scrunches slightly with his words, and the small expression has a smile stretching my cheeks.

I try to pull my hands away, but he takes them in his, gently cradling them in his large hands. His fingers gently hover above the raw skin before his gaze turns up toward me, his forest green eyes turning a darker shade as he grits out, “Who?”

“S..ing.” Sing? He wanted to sing? With the way he was right now? And then I realised what he meant. He wanted me to sing. For him.

If anyone had hurt her–even so much as a papercut–I would gut the fucker. I’d rip the flesh from their bones and burn them alive. And then rinse and repeat that shit everyday until there was nothing left. Not even a speck of dust would survive what I’d do. Red was one of us now, and no-one gets to hurt her.
