My life was painful, and even in these short twenty-seven years, they felt like an eternity of misery.
I deserved better. The younger me deserved better.
How did I ever find such a weak man intimidating?
“Words can hurt, wounds can fester, but even the most broken of bones can heal again, Red.”
“Just live the way you want, Red. Whether you're the good guy or the bad guy in someone else's story, everyone becomes a villain at some point. It's only a difference in perspective.”
Being the unhinged one at times has its benefits.”
“Always give more than you get, Red. If they knock you down once, get back up and bury them.”
“Never lose that, Red. That fight in you…Never let anyone take it away. With it, you can do almost anything.”
“Watching you makes me hungry, Red.”
“Good girl.”
“I’m more of a doer, not a talker, Red.” “Funny, every time we meet, you don’t stop talking.”
“If I die, at least it's by your sexy hands, Red.”
But if I’m going to be treated like the bad guy…” I look around the room, meeting each set of eyes watching me, “I might as well become one.”
My woman wouldn’t just eat crumbs, she would have the whole fucking cake and everyone else’s too.
I had only looked at it for a moment, but they noticed. And they bought it for me.
“I never knew I was missing something until you came along.”
“Easy for you to say, you don’t have to fight with a fucking boner.”
“Lead the way…but never leave me behind again.”
“I told you she was my kind of crazy.”
You’re the salvation I never knew I needed. My Red.”
