“Don’t ever let them see you stumble. There's strength in a smile. Even if it's forced.” His gaze meets mine, and whatever he sees has his expression softening. “You seem like a fighter anyway, little sea star.”

She was mine, ours, and she deserved the world. Every blade, every diamond, and every chocolate muffin. My woman wouldn’t just eat crumbs, she would have the whole fucking cake and everyone else’s too. If I had to threaten, rob, and maim, I would.

“If anyone tries to eye fuck her while she’s looking like that…I’ll be taking souvenirs and starting a collection, Brother.” His gaze turns heated as he trails his eyes back over me. “Don’t blame me, Red. It's damn near sinful what you’re doing to me.”

“Focus, Annex,” Ezra shouts as he narrows his gaze toward the beast in the courtyard. “Easy for you to say, you didn’t just see the hottest fucking thing ever.” He turns back to me, pointing to my blade as a serious expression takes over his face. “We’re playing with that later.”

“Both of you focus!” Creed barks. “Easy for you to say, you don’t have to fight with a fucking boner.” Grumbles Annex.

“It's because…you're everything that colour stands for…and more. Dangerous. Fearless…And a temptation…I shouldn’t touch or want…but can’t help coming back to…You’re the salvation I never knew I needed. My Red.”
