Jesus doesn’t require us to experience what He hasn’t already experienced. He has suffered too. He knows what it feels like to grieve someone you love; remember, He wept at the death of Lazarus. He knows what it feels like to have a father not show up when you need him the most; remember, He cried out to God on the cross, “Why have you forsaken me?”[12] He knows what it’s like to be falsely accused; that’s how He got on the cross.
