Given the choice, she’d pick his life over hers. Any day, every day. If one of them had to die, it should be her, because he was such a gift to the entire world. He was. He was everything.
He would never find anyone like her again. He would never try. Once you’d had a love like that, it would be futile to try to replicate it. Everything else would be a hollow imitation.
“Oh, honey. I wish we’d been friends when you were little. I would’ve punched anyone who made you feel bad.”
She would take such good care of him. He was so pure, and she would make a beautiful life with him. For him. Because of him.
